Maple and ginkgo trees have turned brilliant shades of red and yellow across Japan this month. While spring may have its cherry blossoms considered as the pinnacle of Japan’s natural beauty, the autumn foliage is just as beautiful to me.

Nikko is the perennial favorite of mine, I have been there three times. Here is a picture of Ryuzu Falls I took with my iPhone 6s back in 2018.

Believe me it looks so much better in person. If you are a ‘leaf chaser’ the view will not disappoint you.

Yesterday I went out to enjoy the view of the dying ginkgo. The weather was generally pleasant and the air was cool, perfect time to stroll around without worrying about the prickly heat of summer. The experience is both aesthetic and spiritual.

Breathtaking Foliage

From late September through mid of December, the fall leaves in Japan reach their peak colors. This picture below is one that I took early November of 2019 with my phone camera in Nikko.

This is just me expressing my love and appreciation in Japan’s best season. Have a great day!
